2020/2021 AA Tryouts

Ringette Manitoba intends to operate a AA league for the 2020/2021 season. Although the entire Ringette community in both Manitoba and Canada have been impacted significantly by the COVID-19 Pandemic, Ringette Manitoba is hopeful we'll all be back at the rink soon to enjoy this wonderful sport. Operation of a AA league requires an immense amount of planning and effort by Ringette Manitoba's AA Committee. We would ask that you complete the intent to tryout form to provide Ringette Manitoba with critical information related to the number of athletes who want to participate in a AA league during the 2020/21 season. This information will assist Ringette Manitoba to better assess tryout and team formation processes given that these processes may need to be modified and will also ensure that Ringette Manitoba is adequately prepared for the return to play of the AA league.

2020/2021 Intent to Tryout

U14 AA - (Born 08 / 09) - We anticipate having 4 teams at the U14 age level

U16 AA - (Born 06 / 07) -  The intent of the AA committee is to form 4 teams at this age group if registration numbers are sufficient and skills are considered at a AA level. The final determination of the number of U16 AA teams will not be made until tryout registration numbers are submitted and skills can be evaluated.

U19 AA - (Born 03 / 04 / 05) - The intent of the AA committee is to form three (3) teams at the U19 age level. The final determination of the U19 team formation will not be made until tryout registration numbers are submitted and skills can be evaluated.

The 2020/21 AA tryouts will be coordinated by Ringette Manitoba's AA Committee, in a central manner to ensure consistent evaluation of all athletes.

Depending on Health Regulations at the time: After tryouts are complete and teams formed, all athletes who were not selected will be required to return to their home Local Association. If a player is selected to play on a team outside of their catchment area and the player declines to play, they will not be selected to another AA team and will return to their home Local Association. Registrants will need to indicate whether they would be willing to play for a AA team outside of their catchment area to avoid situations where athletes decline to play after being selected for a team from a different AA Organization. It is the intent of the AA committee to allow all AA evaluated players to have the opportunity to be selected for an AA team.
